ABC Singapore Branch conducted IT Security Awareness Training on 16th August 2013 for its staff as well as a technology update for its Management. The Branch engaged KPMG Singapore to organize and present the training on security practices which staff should observe, and updated Branch Management on the latest regulatory requirements.

To meet the Technology Risk Management guidelines which MAS recently released, the training highlighted two points:

1.Fundamentals of IT security and its incorporation into the Branch’s environment.

2.New regulatory requirements and mitigating strategies.

The scope of training includes password settings and storage, e-mail security, virus protection, internet security, data loss prevention, social media security, cloud computing and other aspects, with strong relevant cases highlighted. During training, staff discussed in depth work processes, common IT security issues and the recently completed system upgrades and data migration.
