The scope of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in ABC has broadened over the past year.  Apart from volunteering at organizations for the socially challenged, the staff of ABC also remembers our furry friends at animal shelters and took time off from work to help out in these places.

On 13 September 2012, a group of our branch staff went to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals (SPCA) to engage in practically a “hands-on” job.  They washed and cleaned up the various enclosures and ensured that sanitation and upkeep of dwelling quarters were in good order.  The litter trays were cleared and the animals were fed with food prepared by the SPCA staff.

It was literally a dog-tired day amidst the hustle and bustle of the clean-up activities.  The staff was bushed and fatigued.  Energies were sapped but it was a meaningful engagement away from the air-conditioned office and meetings that they were accustomed to.  The spirit of indomitable volunteerism was indeed overwhelming. The indelible experience was deepened with the purchase of some souvenirs from the SPCA gift shop.
